Lt. / PAL Director
Lt. Rodney Rowland was born in Upland, CA and later moved at a young age to Erwin, NC and then Dunn, NC. Rodney is a 1987 graduate of Triton High School, attended Johnston Community College where he received his Basic Law Enforcement Certification. Rodney started to work in Law Enforcement in 1988 for the Town of Benson and started full-time with the Dunn Police Department in 1989. Rodney worked as a patrol officer, special crimes officer, detective and community policing officer. Rodney was one of the first police officers to help start the Dunn Police Athletic League in 1995 as a patrol officer and later became a community policing officer. Rodney was a member of Dunn Jaycees, Dunn Rotary, Workforce Development Board, currently on the Dunn Chamber Education Committee. Rodney Volunteers for Dunn PAL, Harnett County Schools (Triton High School), Triton JROTC and Divine Street Methodist Pre-School Program. Rodney is a member of Robert’s Grove Original Freewill Baptist Church in Sampson County where he was saved and became a Christian, he is now a member of Central Baptist Church of Dunn where he regularly attends with his wife Patty and two children William and Daniel. Rodney’s two favorite scriptures in the Bible are John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. and Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
I have been working at PAL for about 14 years in varies positions. I’ve started working with children in the Harnett Co. School system (Dunn Middle) for 17 years. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I feel as though this is my purposes in life. While teaching at Dunn Middle school I also coached girls’ volleyball, basketball and softball teams where I won several Championships in all sports. I presently coach Varsity Girls basketball at PAL and assist with the boys’ basketball teams. (14U and Varsity), I also have won several Championships with the PAL teams. I have received several certifications while working at PAL.
I’m a graduate of Dunn High School, attended Campbell University for 2 ½ years in Physical Education. Graduate from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a degree of Associate of Applied Science, I graduated from Central Carolina Community College with a degree of Associate of Arts.
I was raised in Columbia, S.C., moved to Dunn; N.C. I have worked in Dunn most of my life. I am married to Curtis Teasley and we have one daughter (Danielle) and one grandson (Donte).

I started my journey with Dunn PAL in August of 2012 as a parent volunteer. Loving every aspect of this organization, I later left my job of nursing to became an employee on October 6,2014. I love working with our students to instill a sense of pride and responsibility while enhancing self esteem.
I was born and raised in Coats NC until the age of 18 when I moved to Dunn NC, I am a mother to three boys who currently attend Harnett County Schools. I am a fan of basketball and football, and enjoy spending quality time with my family.

My name is Carrie Ballance. I am the 6th grade Enrichment leader at Dunn Police Athletic/Academic League. I love working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. Education should empower a child and help them make a positive contribution to our world.
I reside in the Midway/Spivey’s Corner area, where I was born and raised. I am currently enrolled in the School-Age Education Program at Sampson Community College. After receiving my Associates in School-Age Education, I plan to attend Fayetteville State University to receive my Bachelors in Elementary Education. During my free-time I enjoy spending time with family/friends, spending time at the beach, attending church, and cooking.
My name is Priscilla Walden. I currently work at the Police Athletic League in Dunn, NC. I am a 1st grade Enrichment Leader. What I enjoy most about working with my children is the diversity. Each child is different in their own special way. I look forward to working with my children for the upcoming holidays & events for the rest of the year.
Hello, my name is Kilvet Zalavarria and I am a Third grade enrichment instructor at the Dunn PAL. I am currently a student at Central Carolina Community College studying Lasers and Photonics Technology. In my free time I like to play soccer and hang out with friends. I decided to work for the PAL because I wanted to make a difference in my community and impact the lives of the kids I instruct.
