Rodney Rowland


Rodney Rowland

Lt. / PAL Director

Lt. Rodney Rowland was born in Upland, CA and later moved at a young age to Erwin, NC and then Dunn, NC. Rodney is a 1987 graduate of Triton High School, attended Johnston Community College where he received his Basic Law Enforcement Certification. Rodney started to work in Law Enforcement in 1988 for the Town of Benson and started full-time with the Dunn Police Department in 1989. Rodney worked as a patrol officer, special crimes officer, detective and community policing officer. Rodney was one of the first police officers to help start the Dunn Police Athletic League in 1995 as a patrol officer and later became a community policing officer. Rodney was a member of Dunn Jaycees, Dunn Rotary, Workforce Development Board, currently on the Dunn Chamber Education Committee. Rodney Volunteers for Dunn PAL, Harnett County Schools (Triton High School), Triton JROTC and Divine Street Methodist Pre-School Program. Rodney is a member of Robert’s Grove Original Freewill Baptist Church in Sampson County where he was saved and became a Christian, he is now a member of Central Baptist Church of Dunn where he regularly attends with his wife Patty and two children William and Daniel. Rodney’s two favorite scriptures in the Bible are John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. and Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.



Kareen Teasley

After-school Coordinator

I have been working at PAL for about 14 years in varies positions. I’ve started working with children in the Harnett Co. School system (Dunn Middle) for 17 years. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I feel as though this is my purposes in life. While teaching at Dunn Middle school I also coached girls’ volleyball, basketball and softball teams where I won several Championships in all sports. I presently coach Varsity Girls basketball at PAL and assist with the boys’ basketball teams. (14U and Varsity), I also have won several Championships with the PAL teams.  I have received several certifications while working at PAL.

I’m a graduate of Dunn High School, attended Campbell University for 2 ½ years in Physical Education. Graduate from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a degree of Associate of Applied Science, I graduated from Central Carolina Community College with a degree of Associate of Arts.

I was raised in Columbia, S.C., moved to Dunn; N.C. I have worked in Dunn most of my life. I am married to Curtis Teasley and we have one daughter (Danielle) and one grandson (Donte).

I started my journey with Dunn PAL in August of 2012 as a parent volunteer. Loving every aspect of this organization, I later left my job of nursing to became an employee on October 6,2014. I love working with our students to instill a sense of pride and responsibility while enhancing self esteem.

I was born and raised in Coats NC until the age of 18 when I moved to Dunn NC, I am a mother to three boys who currently attend Harnett County Schools. I am a fan of basketball and football, and enjoy spending quality time with my family.



Marius Holden

My name Marius Holden. I born in 1980. I graduate from Triton High School in 1999. My favorite subject is math. I have some college My favorite food is food is Pizza. I played basketball and football. I was one of the first member of pal. I have work for pal almost two years now. I have two kids.


Justin Malloy

Media Arts Instructor

Hello, my name is Justin Malloy and I am the Media Arts coordinator here at the Dunn PAL.  I was born in Dunn, North Carolina on July 12th 1994.  I am currently a senior at Methodist University. I am a leader in our mass communication department, and I make sure my school work comes first.  I was a football player all 3 years in college and decided to take my last year off.  I am focusing on my career and trying to go far beyond the stars in life.  I have two brothers who are very strong supports and two great parents who love me daily.

Here at the pal, it is my job to make sure that our students are succeeding while attending the PAL.  I have a huge heart for our youth and I enjoy coming to work each day.  I have been known as a positive role model to so many of my friends.  I feed off a lot of energy when talking to someone about life.  I love God and will always put him first in my life.  I am excited about what we are doing here at the Dunn PAL with our youth!

Hello, I am Justin Artis of Dunn North Carolina. I am 18 years old and graduated from Triton High in 2015. I attend school as a part time student at Central Carolina Community College and is working part-time at the Dunn PAL as an Enrichment Leader. I look forward to having a great year with the kids!

Sharon Williams

Hi my name is Sharon Williams and I am from Dunn NC. I graduated from Midway High School in 1995 where I was active in FBLA, FHA, drama, track, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, chorus, and yearbook committee. After graduation, I attended Sampson Community College and Fayetteville State were I obtained a Associates Degree in Education. Thur out my career I have also obtained a certificate in grant writing and management (East Carolina) human resource and management(NC State) and  cosmetology(Hank Hannah). I have a passion for working with young people. During my down time I love spending it with Family and friends. I love to cook, work in my yard and run after my rambunction 20 month old. I enjoy working with the PAL and look forward to what is to come this year!

 Carrie Ballance

My name is Carrie Ballance. I am the 6th grade Enrichment leader at Dunn Police Athletic/Academic League. I love working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. Education should empower a child and help them make a positive contribution to our world.

I reside in the Midway/Spivey’s Corner area, where I was born and raised.  I am currently enrolled in the School-Age Education Program at Sampson Community College. After receiving my Associates in School-Age Education, I plan to attend Fayetteville State University to receive my Bachelors in Elementary Education. During my free-time I enjoy spending time with family/friends, spending time at the beach, attending church, and cooking.

My name is Priscilla Walden. I currently work at the Police Athletic League in Dunn, NC. I am a 1st grade Enrichment Leader.  What I enjoy most about working with my children is the diversity.  Each child is different in their own special way. I look forward to working with my children for the upcoming holidays & events for the rest of the year.

Hello, my name is Kilvet Zalavarria and I am a Third grade enrichment instructor at the Dunn PAL. I am currently a student at Central Carolina Community College studying Lasers and Photonics Technology. In my free time I like to play soccer and hang out with friends. I decided to work for the PAL because I wanted to make a difference in my community and impact the lives of the kids I instruct.

Carlos Ramos

S.T.E.M. Instructor

Carlos Ramos was born and raised in Jersey City New Jersey, until the winter of 2006 when he moved to Dunn, North Carolina where he  currently resides with his mother, brother and his daughter. Mr. Ramos’ graduated from Triton High School in 2009. He is currently attending Central Carolina Community College pursuing a degree in Health Care Management with plans of transferring to Campbell University in the fall of 2017 with plans of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management.

Mr. Ramos is currently employed at Dunn Police Athletic League as a S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering & Math) instructor since February 2016.​ Mr. Ramos’ passion for technology is put to use in his daily activities with the students, where he educates his students in robotics, science, technology, etc.
